My husband and I recently took a cooking class through The International Kitchen in Positano, Italy and it was one of the best parts of our trip! Our instructor, Peter, was extremely knowledgeable of traditional Italian dishes and provided us with the highest quality food and wine. This class was the perfect mix of education and fun, and we would highly recommend to anyone! We can't wait for our next cooking adventure with TIK :)

I just returned from my Portugal trip to Evora with my mother and daughter. Adrian from International Kitchen was very helpful arranging our time in Lisbon and working with me to get the dates I wanted in Evora. They handled all of the transportation to and from Evora, and suggested where to stay in Lisbon which was in a great location and very nice-The Portugal Boutique Hotel. Sophia, our chef/tour guide was outstanding. Not only was she fun to be with and very knowledgeable, her recipes were great. When we told her about a dish we had that we loved she added the recipe to our day of cooking. Her assistant, Maria, was also a joy. Sophia suggested wonderful places to eat and we even got to go to a Fado that the locals enjoy and it was fabulous. The tour that was set up for us to Sintra and Cascais by International Kitchen was also outstanding. This is my second trip with International Kitchen. The first was in Puglia. I highly recommend International Kitchen, the accommodations, tour guides and chefs are top notch.

I just got back from the most fabulous trip with The International Kitchen in Provence, France. The trip far exceeded the high expectations I had set. My sister and I enjpyed the vacation titled 'Cuisine and Culture of Provence'. As I was researching the vacation I was going to take...It was my desire to immerse myself for a week into the French culture and live, eat, shop and cook like they do....that is exactly what I got plus lots more! I did not want a luxury vacation...I wanted an educational one...and I learned more than I dreamed I would! I cannot say enough good things about them...I think the money I spent was well worth it and I got more than I bargained for! It was not just the cooking that I enjoyed but the places we went and experienced....I am single and enjoy traveling...I am learning that sometimes I may have to travel alone if I want to go somewhere...TIK made me feel safe and gave me all the tools I needed to navigate by myself in a foreign country.....I would be perfectly fine traveling by myself with them.....I am already looking into the next adventure with them for next year. Thank you International Kitchen for planning such a wonderful trip and unforgettable experience for me!! If any of your clients would like to discuss my experience, I am happy to share it with them!

Too Expensive for What You Actually Get - Don’t Recommend Cost vs Value = 2 Experience = 3.5 (Cooking lesson in Avignon makes up 70% of rating) Dealing with TIK/Problem Resolution = (4.5) Total = 1 Star $15,430 for 4 adults, 8 nights, 2 customized cooking & wine tasting vacation programs, 2 locations South of France (Avignon) and Tuscany (Lucca). Too expensive to justify - don't recommend. PROGRAMS: - Discovery Provence in Avignon $1,300/pp: 4-nights at Hotel de L’Horloge, breakfast, 1 cooking classes w/dinner to follow, Winery tour at 1 wineries in the Rhone Valley (was suppose to be 2 wineries), RT transfer to train station. - At Home in Tuscan Villa in Lucca, $2,400/pp: 4-nights double accommodations at Villa Gobbi Benelli, All Meals, 2-Hands on cooking classes (pasta and gnocci); Half-day in Lucca and Viareggio/Pietrasanta; Stop in Pisa to see Leaning Tower, RT transfer to train station. HIGHLIGHTS: The highlight was the cooking lesson in Avignon at LaMirande Restaurant. The Chef was great but she didn’t know who TIK was - she said she’d never heard of them -there was a bit of confusion in the beginning and it took about 30 minutes to figure it out. I found out that you can contact LaMirande directly for cooking lessons and saving a lot of money. DISAPPOINTMENTS: There were 2 notable disappointments on our trip. 1) Our accommodations at Villa Gobbi Benelli felt like a room in the attic there was storage in the entry way and you had to go up 1.5 flights. 2) Your on your own once on vacation. We paid for wine tasting at 2 wineries in the Rhone Valley of France and we only went to 1 winery. I asked TIK if they can add an additional wine tasting stop in Tuscany and they told me that I’d have to work that out with the driver directly. They paid for our tasting fees in Tuscany (120 euros), but that didn’t compensate for the cost we paid and more importantly the experience of a lifetime to taste wines in one of the worlds best wine regions and the main purpose we went to the South of France. TIP: Pay particular attention to their contract and read it carefully regarding refunds and cost for any changes even minor one. Email with directions to work with driver: From: The International Kitchen Subject: Re: Have a wonderful trip! Date: September 1, 2017 at 10:07:16 AM PDT To: April A Hi April, I'm glad you enjoyed the class! Our partners in France do send their apologies. They do not have a good explanation other than that a mistake was made and you were put on the tour that went to Chateauneuf du Pape and then to Orange. While many clients want to see Orange, we explained that you really wanted the wine tasting! For the Lucca winery tour, we "should" be able to add an extra stop. There are 2 winery visits scheduled, but a third may be possible if you do not linger too long at the first two. It's hard to know for certain how long they will take - this is Italy after all! - so we can't guarantee a third stop, it is something that you can work out directly with the driver on Tuesday. We will, however, take care of the cost of the standard tastings at the first two wineries for you as a way to make up for the winery visit that you did not get in France. April, we're sorry about this snafu and that the experience in Provence was not everything you hoped. I am confident that Dunia and her staff at the villa will make up for it in Tuscany!
